Sarah Sampsel Appointed Design Director
November 12, 2015
Work & Co announces another key addition to its design leadership. Sarah Sampsel, until recently Director, Digital Strategy and Design at the Washington Post, joins as Design Director.
Sampsel has led the creation of many successful digital journalism products. She ran key parts of the Post’s digital business, managing a team of designers, engineers and journalists. Design credits include the Washington Post iPad app — which she created before the first iPad was actually released — and the award-winning investigative project “Top Secret America.”
Sampsel also found time to teach design at the Graduate School of Journalism at Georgetown University. In 2014, the Washington Post relocated her to New York City to create a new group focused on developing products in the personalization and big data space.
Felipe Memoria, Work & Co Design Partner, explained, “Sarah is not only a great designer or a UX star. She has also had significant product responsibility and managed a successful digital publishing business. That’s a rare combination of skills so we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with her.”
