Director, Content Marketing

Brooklyn, NY

Work & Co (work.co) solves complex problems and drives business forward —through end-to-end strategy, design and development of their core digital products. With a team over 500 and offices in the United States, Latin America, and Europe, we’ve become the go-to partner for IKEA, Google, Apple, Gatorade, PGA TOUR, Mercedes, MTA, Planned Parenthood, and more. As Fast Company noted, our engineering and design teams are routinely entrusted with creating digital products for companies which rarely approach outside firms. Forrester Research calls our approach “a model to follow.”

We’re seeking a Director of Content Marketing to join our team. This new role is based in our Brooklyn office and will work with our global team.

Our Director of Content Marketing is a passionate marketing professional who possesses the expertise to develop compelling thought leadership content. This person will have a strong foundation in content creation, writing, design, and marketing. This role will champion an understanding of the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the future of digital products.

This person will work closely with many of the most celebrated designers and technologists globally, leveraging their expertise to produce high-quality content that resonates with our audience. Key responsibilities will include crafting insightful reports, establishing content calendars, conducting market research, and analyzing the competitive landscape. Working collaboratively with the Marketing and Growth teams, they will also help shape go-to-market positioning and messaging for our brand.

In summary, this role requires a dynamic individual with a keen understanding of content creation paired with knowledge of and excitement around the future of technology including the impact AI will have, who can work closely with cross-functional teams to drive results and position our brand as a leader in the industry.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that meets business objectives and user needs
  • Write and edit compelling copy for a variety of digital platforms to inform product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Define our unique position against competitors and educate the business in accordance
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to develop integrated campaigns that leverage digital content
  • Stay up-to-date on trends in digital content and best practices for content strategy and execution
  • Conduct keyword research and utilize SEO best practices to ensure that our content is discoverable by users
  • Analyze site traffic data and user behavior to inform and improve content strategy/test, iterate and create best practices
  • Manage the day-to-day publishing of content across all digital channels, working with editorial and design teams as needed
  • Inspire and build excitement to support our brand

We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 7+ years proven work experience developing compelling content both as an editor and a hands-on writer
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of managing fellow writers and content producers
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skill and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Figma, Slack, Dropbox, and other related applications
  • Expertise in all social media platforms and content marketing experience — with a preference for prior B2B marketing experience
  • Experience with search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Keen understanding of audience development / A/B testing
  • Ability to develop video scripts and coordinate video production with internal / external parties
  • Should possess both a passion for design, technology, and digital products broadly, as well as strong technical writing skills and prior experience writing about technology.

The starting base pay for the Director of Content Marketing role is between $160,000 and $180,000. The actual annual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, knowledge, skills, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Along with competitive pay, full-time employees are eligible for full benefits.
