Work & Co has elevated seasoned engineer Igor Oliveira to Associate Partner. He becomes the company’s first partner in Brazil.
Oliveira joined the company in 2014 as a developer and has remained a hands-on leader, partnering with brands such as Virgin America, Julliard, McKinsey, Philz Coffee, Elo, and Gatorade. He has a track record of shipping net-new digital product experiences and Oliveira is also a vocal and respected member in the global tech community on topics such as open source and the right to internet privacy. He was a comitter for Webkit and WebCL, and a core contributor to open-source operating systems for TVs and watches.
“Igor is a one-of-a-kind developer known for flawless web-based work as well as deep experience in-house at mobile hardware companies like Samsung and Nokia,” said Marcelo Eduardo, Co-Founder at Work & Co. “His contributions to the industry are so significant that his work was running on millions of devices even before he joined us.”
“One thing I’ve always loved about the engineering team at Work & Co is that we’re focused on shipping while keeping an eye on finding solutions to the next challenge on the horizon,” said Oliveira. “It’s akin to a lab or research center. We think through our decisions and tap into the diversity of thought within our team — which ranges from PhDs to data scientists to self-taught developers. This range of expertise has helped us push against follow-the-market approaches.”
Based in Sao Paulo, Oliveira added that he’s excited to lead the team’s growth in Brazil, and to “help evolve the entire business landscape in the region forward.”
