Celanese Launches Chemille™, an Intelligent Materials Platform
May 15, 2025

The global leader in the chemical and specialty materials industry, Celanese, has launched a new digital platform to help engineers and designers with materials selection early in the product design and innovation process. Named Chemille™, the platform is a first-of-its-kind in the market.
Celanese is known for polymers that are ubiquitous across all industries ranging from automotive to medical devices. By visiting AskChemille.com, customers can get highly tailored recommendations. Teams gain a substantial competitive advantage by choosing the right materials early in the product design process.
“Chemille has the potential to transform the way materials are chosen by intelligently making expert guidance and data available instantly,” said Craig Peterson, Chemille Program Leader. “Imagine shaving hours, days, and weeks from the material selection process by getting what you need immediately and with high confidence.”
The newly-launched platform was designed and developed in partnership with Work & Co, part of Accenture Song.
Features include:
- Material Search: Users can input specific properties their products require, such as thermal resistance, mechanical strength, or chemical compatibility. Chemille will then identify the most suitable solution based on these criteria.
- Identify Alternatives: Users can replace a current material with a Celanese solution, and Chemille will then identify options that match or exceed the properties of your existing material.
- Specifications Search: Capabilities include customized searches that meet specific requirements, including filtering by industry-relevant certifications or standards.
- Live Chat Support: Chemille offers a dedicated support team available 24/5 globally, providing an engineer-to-engineer live chat, ensuring specialized assistance tailored to specific needs.
- Resource Library: Access to a collection of case studies and solution showcases, offering insights into material applications and performance.
In addition to developing the strategy and user experience behind Chemille, Work & Co and Celanese partnered to bring this digital experience to life with a new responsive, approachable brand and design system. The design system supports scalability and enables the Chemille team to iteratively build and ship new features. This tool sets the foundation and a five-year vision for how Celanese will adopt AI to drive more collaboration internally as well as increase efficiencies for its partners.
