Celebrated Front-End Engineer Zeh Fernando Joins Us
July 13, 2015
Continuing the growth of its technology practice, Work & Co announces the addition of Zeh Fernando to its development team. Fernando brings over 20 years of experience. His work in user interface development and animation has been featured in Fast Company as an example of “hard-core programming.”
“Zeh’s talents span different development languages, and even across disciplines,” Tiago Luchini, Partner in Technology, said. “This is a perfect representation of our diverse team of 25 engineers.”
Fernando comes to Work & Co as Principal Developer, following six years at Firstborn. While at Firstborn, he led interface development for a first-of-its-kind digital soda fountain for Pepsico, and built virtual reality experiences for Patrón and Mountain Dew. These experiences were based in a variety of emergent engineering techniques, from CGI animation to proprietary software design for use with the Oculus Rift.
A devoted open-source contributor, Fernando’s MC Tweene and Tweener libraries are well known in the development community. He currently focuses primarily on ActionScript, JavaScript, Java, C#, and C++, remaining devoted to the kind of design-driven engineering necessary to build immersive user experiences.
“The work happening at Work & Co is exactly the work I want to be doing now,” Fernando said. “This means making what people use everyday—true products.”
