BNP Paribas Open Launches New Site, Apps
March 04, 2024
Famed tennis tournament BNP Paribas Open has launched a suite of innovative digital products — evolving the fan experience for professional tennis and delivering world class onsite and remote viewing experiences.
The revamped website and all new mobile apps are now available for download in the Apple App Store and on the Google Play Store.
The BNP Paribas Open chose Work & Co to lead both the design and development of the new experiences, following its track record of award-winning digital experiences for top brands in sports and beyond including: PGA TOUR, Gatorade, MLB, Apple, and Google.
“Our new digital platforms are designed to allow tennis fans to engage in a more personalized, targeted way than ever before,” said Philippe Dore, Chief Marketing Officer of the BNP Paribas Open. “Work & Co was a highly collaborative partner and critical to our efforts to ideate and rapidly bring to life a robust and holistic digital experience. We are excited to debut these enhanced products just in time for the 2024 event.”
The tournament represents the largest combined WTA and ATP Tour two-week event in the world. The 2024 BNP Paribas Open will take place from March 3-17 and feature the best professional tennis players in the world, including Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, and Rafael Nadal.
The reimagined site serves as the epicenter for tournament information, including: player information and statistics; on-site amenities and activities; and daily schedules, scores and results. Re-designed individual player pages provide in-depth statistical information, biographies and highlight past performance at Indian Wells.
The companion app meanwhile serves as a way for fans to keep track from afar, and serves as a concierge to help fans get the most out of their day on-site at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. It offers users a guided experience and information on where to eat and where to park, along with daily digests of matches and practice court schedules customized to their favorite players, as well as live match streaming.
"Building an integrated ecosystem of products from the ground up allowed us to deliver a consistent, personalized experience at every step of a fan's digital journey," said Nick Lee, Technology Partner at Work & Co. "The platform's capabilities far surpass those of existing off-the-shelf solutions, providing the BNP Paribas Open team with tools to meaningfully connect with the tournament's diverse follower base, whether they’re at the venue or following the action from home.”
