Itaú Launches itu, Chile's new Digital Banking App

Itaú, the largest bank in Latin America, has launched itu —its first 100% digital B2C product in Chile.
The new app —which marks an expansion of Work & Co's relationship with Itaú into new countries— solves complexity and helps customers gain well-informed financial management faster and more securely. Work & Co led product strategy and concepting, user research, and digital design.
As a longtime partner of Itaú in Brazil, Work & Co previously led the creation of multiple digital products for the bank - the íon investment app, the redesign of the iti digital bank app, and more recently the new Itaú Personnalité app, aimed at the bank's high-income segment. In addition, Work & Co also built the Itaú Design Language (iDL) - a library of interface components, graphic elements and interaction structures that guarantee product scalability and consistency with the bank's entire ecosystem of digital channels.
The design strategy for the most recent project out of Chile was based on three pillars of experience co-created with our clients: simplicity, education and sincerity.

Simplicity: With 100% digital onboarding and a virtual card, in just a few clicks, the new customer can start using their account and complete transactions immediately. The app's home page can be customized in a very simple editing process, allowing the user to choose what is most important for their routine.
Education: The intelligent digital journey recognizes the individual context of each user and presents the correct information at the necessary time. The experience flows like an informal conversation, with first-person language and informative content in a guided manner and in a friendly tone.
Sincerity: With transparency that helps the customer make decisions, itu is always honest with a simple and clear design.
