PLI Named to Fast Company’s Brands That Matter

Following a redesign of its digital properties, the Practising Law Institute (PLI) has been honored on Fast Company’s prestigious 2023 Brands That Matter list.
PLI —which is the leading nonprofit provider of continuing legal education and training resources for lawyers and other professionals— partnered with Work & Co earlier this year to launch a new app experience. Together, we introduced a modern and flexible approach to legal education to better serve their mission and the diverse needs of their members. The work introduces a new look and feel, updated content strategy, personalization, a streamlined media player, and the ability to access both live and on-demand content.
In awarding the honor, Fast Company said it counts PLI among “the brands building the future” with its digital experience. “Offering a content library, video and transcription options for learning, and a deep dive on pro-bono topics such as immigration and racial inequity, the app is crucial to expanding access and knowledge related to legal matters.”
In the weeks following launch, the new PLI app saw a substantial increase in engagement, with week-over-week growth and 54% more downloads compared to the entire lifespan of the old apps over two years. In the first six months, the new app saw over 100,000 programs launched/viewed.
Fast Company’s 2023 Brands That Matter list recognizes companies that have communicated and demonstrated brand purpose, and are leading on social action, sustainability, inclusivity, and fun. The brands honored have achieved a connection with their audiences by being culturally relevant, making an impact, and communicating their mission and values clearly and with ingenuity. Other companies featured this year include General Motors, Girls Who Code, and PetCo.
